The Design Process

The process begins with an in-home consultation to understand the space, how it is used, style preferences, priorities, budget, and overall goals. The space is reviewed to identify challenges and opportunities, discuss the vision, and establish the direction and scope of the project. Following the consultation, a proposal is prepared outlining the recommended scope, design fees, and next steps.

Once the project begins, a detailed site visit is conducted to measure and document existing conditions, including furnishings or architectural elements that will remain. The design is then developed through space planning, furniture layouts, color, materials, finishes, lighting, furnishings, textiles, and other elements appropriate to the project, with each selection considered in relation to the whole.

The proposed design is presented as a complete concept, including floor plans, elevations, selections, materials, and supporting visuals appropriate to the project. Feedback is gathered and the design is refined through two rounds of revisions before selections are finalized.

Once the design is approved, the final design package is prepared with the drawings, selections, specifications, and other deliverables outlined in the project scope. Design Only clients receive the information needed to move forward with purchasing and implementation, while Design + Ordering projects continue into the ordering phase.

Ordering and implementation support are provided only when included in your selected services. For Design + Ordering projects, approved furnishings and decor are purchased and managed through the studio within the agreed scope. Orders are placed and tracked, vendor communication is managed, shipping and delivery are coordinated, and backorders, damages, or replacements are addressed as needed.
