Layered Living
Familiar pieces brought together with color, texture and a warmer sense of home.
The Challenge
The living room had its main furniture in place but felt dark and disconnected. Used for relaxing and entertaining, it needed better lighting, more privacy without losing daylight, and a warmer composition that retained the black leather seating, fireplace, and TV.
The Design
The existing sofas became the foundation for a layered palette of warm wood, brass, ochre, cream, and deep green. A wood coffee table, brass-accented side tables, and a rug brought warmth and definition to the seating area.
Muted gold drapery and sheer panels balanced privacy with natural light. Floor and table lamps added softer lighting, while textured pillows, throws, brass wall art, and greenery brought the room together. The existing fireplace, TV, carpet, wall color, and architecture remained.
