The Ochre Room
A nature-inspired guest room, layered with ochre, deep green and warm wood.
The Challenge
The guest room felt sparse, and the bed partially blocked the window, limiting the view and natural light. The client wanted a warmer room connected to the nature outside, with better lighting and more storage for guests.
The Design
A revised layout around the existing bed opened the view toward the window. Ochre, deep green, warm wood, and soft neutrals established a nature-inspired palette, complemented by selected bedding, a rug, window treatments, nightstands, lamps, artwork, and accessories.
Layered window treatments softened daylight, while table lamps provided warm evening light. Nightstands and a storage bench added useful space for guests. The existing bed and architecture remained; painting and installation were handled by others following the design selections and direction.
